Emily Dickinson: Person, Poetry, and Place
NEH Summer Scholars are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to bring a laptop computer to the Workshop. Because access to campus computers is restricted to daytime hours, past scholars have found that having a personal computer for evening work on curriculum projects and access to numerous on-line resources has added immeasurably to their experience. The dormitory in which you will be housed has ethernet and wireless service available in each room.(NEH Summer Scholars who bring a laptop must supply their own ethernet cable as a back-up to the wireless service.) Summer Scholars unable to bring a computer should contact the project director to make special arrangments.
Two desktop computers and printers will be available in the dorm lobby.
During the Workshop, you will be able to use Frost Library, the main library at Amherst College. During the summer, Frost Library is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed on weekends).
The Town of Amherst's public library, the Jones Library, is located within two blocks of the dorm in which NEH Summer Scholars will stay. NEH Summer Scholars are welcome to use the library during its normal operating hours.
