Join The Emily Dickinson Museum and The Academy of American Poets in celebrating Poem in Your Pocket Day! Every April, on Poem in Your Pocket Day, people celebrate by selecting a poem, carrying it with them, and sharing it with others throughout the day and on social media using the hashtag #pocketpoem.
On April 20, The Emily Dickinson Museum will grant free admission all day to any visitors who can recite a Dickinson poem from memory. Bring a budding poet to make a "Poem Catcher" craft, or attend short family-friendly poetry readings at 11:45 or 1:45.
Visitors may also enter to win a ticket give-away to see "A Quiet Passion," Terrence Davies' feature film about the life of Emily Dickinson.
This event is free and open to the public, no reservations required.
Don't forget to celebrate again on April 27, National Poem in Your Pocket Day!
