“I dealt a word of Gold”: Writing at the Emily Dickinson Museum
Join us for a morning of word-play and discovery at the Emily Dickinson Museum! Earn the Junior Scribe Badge while learning about the trailblazing poet, Emily Dickinson, and he writing life. During this behind-the-scenes museum experience, scouts will visit rooms inside Dickinson’s 1813 home and explore the rich surroundings of her landscape. Girls will: harness their inner poet, utilize the power of language to express opinions, and explore sense of self through writing. Other activities include crafting a fascicle — the bound journal preferred by Dickinson, herself — to record thoughts throughout the program, reading letters sent over 100 years ago, and stepping into Dickinson’s shoes by writing at a replica of her very own desk!
Registration Information:
- $13/scout and $8/adult. The price for scouts is inclusive of badge purchase.
