The Evergreens dining room has lower ceilings than the other entertaining rooms in the front of the house, creating a cozier feeling in a room still designed to impress. The original 1880s wallpaper contains a brocade pattern in shades of blue and is designed to mimic a woven textile. A center dining table is flanked by a fireplace and a large second empire sideboard with brass rails and pulls. The table is set with blue canton china for a modest family dinner, but it would have opened to comfortably seat fourteen.
